Sayan is a fifth year graduate research assistant (PhD. Candidate) in computer science department of the University of Iowa. He is a member of the Algorithms Research Group. His research interest is Theoretical Computer Science as a whole. Currently he is working on Computational Geometry. To be precise his focus is on Approximation of NP-hard Geometric problems. He also likes to work on Graph Algorithms, Complexity Theory, Combinatorics, and so on. Sayan is honored to have Prof. Kasturi Varadarajan as his thesis adviser. Sayan is an active member of the Algorithms Reading Group and had organized several meetings in the past. He has secured his M.Tech (CS) degree from the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata.
