From 2011-2013, I was involved with the Saturday Computing Experience. It was a program where students learn about Computer Science and developed with tools including Arduino, Scratch, and Processing. I learned American Sign Language (ASL) and enjoyed helping the students with their projects.
In my first year of involvement, I developed a curriculum using the Arduino, where the students developed projects using both hardware and software. The first five weeks were structured and everyone completed the same projects. The last four weeks were designed so each student could design and develop their own project. In addition, I led the Computer Science Unplugged activities for the students.
