Three categories of on-going activity provide direct contributions to the objectives and goals of the Strategic Implementation Plan: America in the Age of Information and consequently warrant increased support. Namely, these activity areas are: research on revolutionary approaches to parallel software development, educational programs providing extensive hands-on experience with parallel environments, and promoting the international cooperation within the technical communities pursuing solutions to these problems.
